A few years ago, I came across a powerful concept known as inevitability thinking and it's the closest thing to guaranteeing success that I've ever been exposed to.
With that said, I'd like to take a few moments to teach you the concept and show you exactly how you can use it in your business.
What is Inevitability Thinking?
Inevitability thinking is a simple concept.
It's about setting up the conditions in your environment so that what you want to happen naturally occurs.
It doesn't matter if you're a solo agent, team leader or managing broker - Apply this concept and you, your team or your brokerage will always have a pipeline full of clients begging to be closed.
So, how exactly do we do this?
Step 1: Decide What You Want
The first step is to decide what you want.
You can't make your success inevitable if you don't know what your goal is. For this example, let's pretend that we're helping a team leader that wants to close 150 transactions this year.
Obviously, there are things like business planning, hiring the right people, and helping team members know their numbers etc. For the sake of learning let's keep this simple and pretend those things are already in place.
Step 2: Apply the Milestone Method
In order to close 150 transactions, you must first be able to close one. Then you need to be able to repeat that process 149 times.
Yes, I know that I'm pointing out the obvious...
I'm doing this because when you repeat something 149 times there are going to be repetitive challenges you can solve with people, systems, tools, or technology. If you take time to zoom out, you can see opportunities to move things around to improve your processes and even avoid some problems completely.
That said, in this step you break down your process into milestones.
You can take a piece of paper and create a timeline from left to right mapping out the major parts of each milestone. From there you can list out the steps taken during that milestone, problems and potential solutions.
In the picture above I kept it high level so you can see an example. This allows you to zoom in and zoom out on your business so you can quickly see where things need work.
Step 3: Answer This Question to Make Your Success Inevitable
As mentioned earlier, inevitability thinking is about setting up the conditions in our environment to make success inevitable.
Now that you've mapped out your milestones, the question that you should be asking is "how can put I the conditions in place so that I make it inevitable that I close 150 transactions this year?
